Semi-rimless construction for an unobstructed view and floating nose pads for adjustable fit. Attache Pipeline: Subtle style meets high performance in the Attache collection. The Pipeline design features a semi-rimless frame made of lightweight Mg-Al alloy treated to a rich anodized finish. And treat yourself to added comfort with adjustable nose pads and resilient spring hinges -- perfect for people who need to put on and remove their glasses frequently. i-FI lens coatings: i-Fi lens coatings filter and protect. Our proprietary nano-filters help capture all of the good light coming from the computer screen while diffusing the bad reflective light and glare. The outer coating provides a protective layer that shields the lens from scratching, abrasion, and oxidation damage. fRACTYL lens geometry: Computer generated fRACTYL lens geometry mimics nature through advanced science and engineering. Aiding the natural focusing power of the cornea, our lens geometry eases eyestrain caused by near distance computer viewing. fRACTYL lens geometry uses independently curved front and back surfaces to provide unparalleled distortion-free optics. Fused with Gunnar frames, the tightly arced lenses form a personal ocular microclimate that prevents dry eyes. iONik lens tints: iONik lens tints take harsh artificial light and precisely tune it to match the anatomy of the eye. Our custom organic dye compounds condition and shift transmitted light into the preferred color spectrum, increasing visual contrast, detail and resolution. Edges of screen pixilated images read more easily and interfering blue light is reduced -- ultimately your eyes are less fatigued. diAMIX lens material: No existing lens material had all the properties we needed. So we gave our lab techs the task of developing the lightest, most optically pure lens material possible. | | | Features: | |

Did not cut it for me!Jul 08, 2010 I bought these with the idea that they could help me since I work in an office and my eyes are constantly strained. But these glasses over time made it worse to see. They feel awesome.....for a while then they just start to bother. My eye sight felt like it would bounce back and forward trying to adjust them selves because they are similar to reading glasses. I have a problem seeing distance, so having these glasses really threw me off big time. Not a good choice for computer glasses, or glare or nothing.

Fantastic marketing, not so great valueMar 17, 2010 These are the fad around the office, and I ordered some as well.
When I tried them out initially, I was impressed with how clear my LCD monitor was. Everything was easier to read.
Before I go any further, understand that I am 48 years old, and am phasing into reading glasses. I wear the lowest magnification that I can find... typically $5 for a pair at the local bargain store.
What I noticed with the Gunnar Optiks was that I had the same eyestrain for distance viewing that I had with low-end reading glasses -- not so bad, but definitely there. When I asked my co-workers if they noticed the same, they all said they did... but that these were optimized for close-in work.
I took them home and tested them: these are very low magnification reading glasses. Much lower than my $5 pair. My optometrist confirmed my suspicions.
So, $55 for reading glasses? Even if they do look cool, they're not worth the money.
On the other hand, I have to applaud the marketing for this company. They're targeting these towards people who are young enough to not need standard reading glasses, but are still straining their eyes. They wouldn't buy "reading glasses" but computer glasses? Score!

Worthwhile for meJan 19, 2010 THE NEGATIVE:
* They're slightly small for my face, and Gunnar didn't have an easy way to identify models that are larger. They're not uncomfortably or unattractively small, but neither do they fit perfectly. As near as I can tell, Gunnar has a "one size fits most" mentality. I would like to see a wider range of sizes.
* When I bought mine, Gunnar hadn't gotten a lot of retail outlets on board yet, and they were a little bit of a pain to find so I could try them on. I ended up in a college bookstore.
* The "case." This has come up in other online reviews, and I can't agree more. The hard case that was included was useless. I carry my glasses between home and work, and I'm stuck with using the soft bag to protect them. Gunnar doesn't offer an aftermarket case, and I haven't found a generic case that fits properly.
THE POSITIVE:
* Build quality. They're rigid, comfortable, well finished. They still look and feel more or less new.
* Optical quality is solid, there's no distortion across the field of view that I can see. They make things slightly larger, like my old computer glasses, which is goodness.
* The "yellow" tint is more subtle than you think, but it does a good job of warming up the temperature of fluorescent light. I've asked a number of people if they can tell that my lenses are tinted, and they all said "well, yeah, now that you mention it, but not normally."
OVERALL:
I've been using these for 6 months or so. It took me a little while to get used to wearing computer glasses again, but now that I have I've grown to like them. Some people have expressed concerns about the tint interfering with graphic design work, and you'll have to make your own judgment. My brain adjusts for the different white balance, so to speak, and I hardly notice the change any more.
UPDATE:
I dropped my glasses today, and the soft bag didn't protect them from landing on a lens, and the lens coming off. The construction of these glasses made reattaching the lens simple, and as I wear them now they're as good as new.
