Monolithic center frame construction with weldless nosepad mounts make a statement in strength. Catalyst Metal Ombre: Super hero. Monolithic center frame construction with weldless nosepad mounts make a statement in strength. i-FI lens coatings: i-Fi lens coatings filter and protect. Our proprietary nano-filters help capture all of the good light coming from the computer screen while diffusing the bad reflective light and glare. The outer coating provides a protective layer that shields the lens from scratching, abrasion, and oxidation damage. fRACTYL lens geometry: Computer generated fRACTYL lens geometry mimics nature through advanced science and engineering. Aiding the natural focusing power of the cornea, our lens geometry eases eyestrain caused by near distance computer viewing. fRACTYL lens geometry uses independently curved front and back surfaces to provide unparalleled distortion-free optics. Fused with Gunnar frames, the tightly arced lenses form a personal ocular microclimate that prevents dry eyes. iONik lens tints: iONik lens tints take harsh artificial light and precisely tune it to match the anatomy of the eye. Our custom organic dye compounds condition and shift transmitted light into the preferred color spectrum, increasing visual contrast, detail and resolution. Edges of screen pixilated images read more easily and interfering blue light is reduced -- ultimately your eyes are less fatigued. diAMIX lens material: No existing lens material had all the properties we needed. So we gave our lab techs the task of developing the lightest, most optically pure lens material possible. Beating out polycarbonate on the toughness scale and rivaling the undisputed optics of ground glass, diAMIX is the next generation of lens materials for those that demand the highest optical qualities. | | | Features: | |

Great GlassesMar 03, 2010 Great Style and light weight. frame is made of a soft light metal that keeps its shape. Lenses cut glare and eye fatigue.
gunnar optiksFeb 10, 2010 i first purchased these because of seizure activity...wanted to see if they would help cut down on some of the rf's (or whatever you call it) you get from the monitor. i feel much less stressed and far less tired when wearing these. it does take some getting used to. but once you do, you can really tell the difference. if it helps me to concentrate better and do a better job, great! well worth the money on Amazon too (less expensive). I love them!
Uncomfortable, flimsy and don't help with eye strainFeb 09, 2010 I'd read other reviews that claimed these glasses work well. I'm a computer programmer so I stare at a computer monitor for at least 8 hours a day. I get some typical eye strain from it and expected these glasses should help since they claim they're designed for that very task. They however did not help. Firstly I found the glassed felt very flimsy. They are very light and that is helpful since you'd expect to wear them all day but because of that lightness I felt like I was going to break them(hence the flimsy feel). While wearing them I couldn't find a position to wear them that didn't involve them falling down a lot or being so far back that the ends of the glasses extended far past my ears. Finally, instead of reducing eye strain they increased it. They have a mild magnification and while I supposed this is actually what is supposed to relieve the strain on your eyes it creates a bigger problem for me. I don't know about you but I don't stare at the same point all day. I look around, check a white board across the room for notes, look up at people talking to me and etc. Because of the magnification I ended up increasing my eye strain due to my eyes having to fight harder to focus. In addition to the magnification there is a coating on the lenses that cause them to pick up every reflection in the room. I'm not sure how they understand the term anti-glare, but picking up glare off every light source would seem to be the exact opposite.
I'm not sure what to do about my eye strain now, but I think a little extra sleep will problem help more than these did(or rather didn't).
Others have found Gunnar glasses helpful though. If you're considering a pair of these I'd suggest you try and find a local store with some so you can try them on and see how the lenses affect your vision.
