Description:

Compact. Subtly shaped into a low profile lens configuration, the Wi-FIVE gives an optimal viewing experience on a small-mass chassis. Finally a fast forward button for your eyes. i-FI lens coatings: i-Fi lens coatings filter and protect. Our proprietary nano-filters help capture all of the good light coming from the computer screen while diffusing the bad reflective light and glare. The outer coating provides a protective layer that shields the lens from scratching, abrasion, and oxidation damage. fRACTYL lens geometry: Computer generated fRACTYL lens geometry mimics nature through advanced science and engineering. Aiding the natural focusing power of the cornea, our lens geometry eases eyestrain caused by near distance computer viewing. fRACTYL lens geometry uses independently curved front and back surfaces to provide unparalleled distortion-free optics. Fused with Gunnar frames, the tightly arced lenses form a personal ocular microclimate that prevents dry eyes. iONik lens tints: iONik lens tints take harsh artificial light and precisely tune it to match the anatomy of the eye. Our custom organic dye compounds condition and shift transmitted light into the preferred color spectrum, increasing visual contrast, detail and resolution. Edges of screen pixilated images read more easily and interfering blue light is reduced -- ultimately your eyes are less fatigued. diAMIX lens material: No existing lens material had all the properties we needed. So we gave our lab techs the task of developing the lightest, most optically pure lens material possible. Beating out polycarbonate on the toughness scale and rivaling the undisputed optics of ground glass, diAMIX is the next generation of lens materials for those that demand the highest optical qualities.

3Disappointed twiceFeb 14, 2010
The glasses seem to help slightly, but not nearly enough for the price you pay. I work for a website so I'm on the computer most of the day and night. After a few hours, my vision really suffers. Everything is pretty much a blur and my eyes hurt and working is all but hopeless. With these glasses, I can spend more time on the computer without getting uncomfortable and going 'blind', but they only prolong comfort for me and eventually I do have a sufficient amount of difficulty, as I would without them. These are extremely over-hyped, in my opinion. The arms are very uncomfortable for me. They have square edges and dig into my ears. The nose pieces are uncomfortable for me as well. They don't float to adjust to nose shape so they clamp onto my nose and leave red indentations. I'm constantly lifting them off my nose and raising the arms up from behind my ears to relieve discomfort. In addition to that, they look pretty silly. In pictures, these glasses seem stylish, but the curved lenses and v-shaped frames make them look more like you Belong on the computer or are going cycling. I ended up returning my pair and purchasing the Groove style, in hopes that they would be more comfortable and look better. Still uncomfortable, and now they just look like safety glasses. I rate these 3 stars (pretty generous) because the tinted lenses do provide some slight relief and that's why I opted for the second pair. However, they don't provide nearly enough relief or physical comfort for the high price tag so I will be returning my other pair and possibly settling for some readers. If I could get these lenses in a comfortable, attractive frame and at a lower price, I'd give them another shot. Heck, if I could get my current pair at a super cheap price I'd be willing to suffer the discomfort for the slight relief on my eyes.

4Performs as advertisedAug 25, 2009
So far I've used the glasses for about a week. Haven't felt any eye strain or headaches when using them while at the PC for hours. Sadly, they wont do much for the skin around your eyes if it already has "battle scars" for excessive PC use. But with time I suppose that will heal. All in all, they're worth the money if you're someone who spends a lot of time in front of glowing boxes and needs the relief.

I was a little skeptical that the glasses wouldn't perform as well as I had hoped. I was pleasantly surprised when the glasses reduced glare and stress on my eyes. A must for people tethered to a computer all day.
